ExodusActions

Supporting the TwitterExodus costs nothing. Supporting Twitter costs everything. These are easy steps we can take together to reduce Elon Musk’s control over the world, grow Bluesky, and abandon Twitter. This campaign is currently small, so these steps are small. Hopefully, together we can take larger steps towards reducing Twitter’s dominance.

  • Activate Don't Deactivate

Many people upset about how bad Twitter has become are deleting their accounts. Deleting your X, FB, IG, and threads account is great step in the right direction! But to really grow the TwitterExodus we need to reach the people still there. We are asking activists to post on Twitter about how everyone should leave and come to Bluesky. The only thing an X account is good for is posting about the TwitterExodus!

If you don’t want to post, just delete all your content and leave a message up telling people where they can find you on Bluesky. If all everyone deletes their Twitter account, we won’t be able to get the word out where we really need to.

  • Ask The Nation Magazine to Prioritize Bluesky over Twitter

The Nation is one of the most popular progressive magazines in the United States. It has an active Bluesky account but uses it much less frequently than its X account. For readers to feel that Bluesky is as useful a platform, sources of news must treat it like one. On January 24th, we launched our first Exodus Action asking the Nation to post equally on Bsky and Twitter—they can simultaneously post on Bluesky and Twitter using a service like Buffer at no cost. We also asked them to add Bluesky links or remove the Twitter links in their author bios. They have not yet made these changes.
